Sept. 27, 2008: KING LEWMAN / Teporah
Join UUCC's own Kristan King and Lance Lewman as they lead their band, KING LEWMAN, at the release of their third CD, Going Somewhere.
Music Monthly compared their first CD to The Beatles, and now those who have been given a early preview of this latest CD, produced by Spencer Capier, say it is "without a doubt the best recording they've made to date!" Combining elements of acoustic pop, folk, blues, country and even some classical, KING LEWMAN has something for everyone. Come join them as they "take it up a notch" and see what all the buzz is about!
Also appearing is Baltimore-based Teporah who combines introspective lyrics with an emotional vocal palette varying from upbeat to bluesy and soulful. Her influences range from Debussy and Satie to such classic female songwriters as Laura Nyro and Kate Bush. An accomplished pianist, her style ranges from sweet and soft to acrobatic jazz and blues. An international award-winning composer and musician, she settled into writing and playing a genre forged from a myriad of influences.
